Charles W. Cook has successfully combined a career furthering his family
construction business with an avocation in communications, media and
In 2005, Charlie was elected to the Consulting Constructors Council of
America. Charlie is an active member of the Construction Education
Committee of AGC of America. Charlie is a past president of the
Carpenters' Company, the oldest extant trade guild in America.
Charlie credits in communication and media include publications in
scholastic journals and award winning stage, video, and multi-media
productions, including a recent Emmy Award for cultural achievement. He
has presented leadership, time management, communication, team building
and motivational seminars for several corporations and AGC chapters.
Tom Burleson is president of Burleson Construction Company, a
third-generation, 64-year old firm in Johnson City, Tennessee.
An AGC activist, Tom is a past chairman of the Construction Education
Committee of AGC of America. He is also a Life Director of AGC of
America, a past president of AGC of Tennessee, and a member of the
Consulting Constructors Council and a director of the AGC of America
Education and Research Foundation.
Tom is retired from the U.S. Army Reserves with the rank of colonel and
served in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and in Desert Storm. Tom
earned a B.S. degree in Building Science from Clemson University.
Paul Stout is a construction project manager, estimator, LEED Accredited Professional, facilitator, seminar instructor, and the AGC of America’s 2009National Instructor of the Year. He brings more than twenty-three years of practical, hands-on construction experience to the arena. From Laborer to Project Manager, Paul advanced through the ranks to learn the industry from the inside out. This progression of personal and career growth included labor, supervision, and management for hundreds of projects. He was a crew Foreman or Project Superintendent for five years, an Estimator for more than five years and a Project Manager for more than ten years. Paul has managed projects from the position of both Subcontractor and Prime Contractor (GC). Paul is the founder and Director of Education Development for Power Summit a national training company. His understanding of the construction process, vast experience and dynamic presentation skills enables him to conduct training sessions and facilitate meetings with authority and conviction. Since 1999, Paul has presented or facilitated more than 660 construction training seminars, workshops and partnering sessions in 67 US cities spanning 22 states, Guam and Djibouti.
Mr. Sachse is the Program Manager for one of the largest California Industrial General Permit approved storm water group monitoring programs, SoCal GMP. His Industrial General Permit experience includes SWPPP preparation, instruction on storm water sampling collection and analysis, BMP implementation and evaluation, and technical expert testimony in site litigation. He conducts Storm Water and Hazardous Waste Workshops at numerous national trade shows and conventions, and has taught Hazardous Waste Treatment and Storm Water courses at the University of California and currently teaches a class in Storm Water compliance/management at the University of Southern California. He also provides expert comments before the State and Regional Water Boards on storm water related matters and participates on many of CASQA’s Industrial General Permit Working Group sub-committees. Gina has been in the energy modeling field since 1991. She has been an Instructor of several dozen full day IOUs Codes and Standards trainings on the Residential and Nonresidential Title 24, Building Energy Efficiency Standards for building department staff,energy consultants, architects, contractors and design engineers.Gina is a Certified Energy Analyst (CEA) and Certified Energy Plans Examiner (CEPE) through CABEC, and a LEED AP.
