Registration and Event FAQ
Q: How is this event different from the AGC Legislative Day or Spring Conference I have attended in previous years?
A: AGC of California is following the same format for this event as we did in May 2015 and 2016. In 2014, AGC of California looked at events that could be consolidated to maximize attendance and resources, with the hopes of decreasing the amount of time
and resources both our members and Association staff were dedicating
throughout the year. When looking at events that could be consolidated, AGC selected the Spring Conference and AGC Legislative Day. Although part of the decision included discontinuing the Spring Conference, the Association is still obligated to hold a series of AGC council, committees, divisions and boards meetings in the Spring. These meetings are necessary per our organization’s bylaws and to conduct ongoing Association business. Unlike Spring Conference, this event will not have multiple networking receptions and/or education seminars. The annual AGC Legislative Day, previously a one-day event, has also been formatted differently and is combined with the series of State Board/Business meetings at this 2017 event. You’ll find an overall theme of “legislative and regulatory issues” running throughout the various meetings-- with members of state government presenting on topics related to that group (example: Joint Engineering and Building Division Meetings). We hope that you will appreciate and enjoy the event changes that we have made for this event, and we hope to see you at all of our statewide conferences and events!
Q: Do I have to register for the business meetings if I am not attending the AGC Legislative Program?
A: Yes. Registration is required for all attendance. If you are registering for the state board/business meetings only, add the complimentary registration to your cart and complete registration. We want to make the check-in process as easy as possible, so advanced registration ensures we will have a name badge and meeting materials ready for you upon your arrival. Visit the Registration page for more information.
Q: What if I plan to attend both the state board/business meetings as well as the AGC Legislative Program?
A: If you plan to attend the AGC Legislative Program, please click that option at registration, and “add” the program option (meetings) below to your cart before completing your registration. This will ensure that we have a name badge ready for you at registration for the business meetings, and you will also be able to attend and participate in the AGC Legislative Program. Visit the Registration page for more information.
Q: Why is there a charge to attend the AGC Legislative Program?
A: The cost is $85 per person, to attend the AGC Legislative Program. The program includes two lunches and one reception. This cost will cover your food and both lunches and food and drinks at the reception. Visit the Legislative Program page to learn more about what is included in your registration.
Q: Can I register multiple people at one time?
A: Yes, you can now register multiple registrants in one transaction. Please register yourself (if applicable), then click the “Register Someone Else” button to register another person. Continue to add registrants until you are ready to check out. If you need assistance with your registration, please contact Maizy Enck, use the website Live Chat feature, or call 916.371.2422.
Q: Do I have to register my spouse for these events?
A: Yes. Everyone who plans to attend the state board/business meetings must have a name badge, so registration is required, and everyone who plans to attend the two lunches and one reception, parts of the AGC Legislative Program, must register and pay for their attendance.
Q: What is the requested attire for this event?
